"This is a very nice. Very clean motel on Ocracoke Island. This motel is very conveniently located in the heart of the Ocracoke village community. Very nice property with a nice pool. Located just across the street from the motel. Staff is very friendly, and rates are very reasonable. This is a very nice place to stay with your family. The only problem we had was that there were three adults and one child with my family, and when we checked in, they only gave us two washcloths. There were four towels, but only two washcloths. But other than that, the property was extremely nice. Bedding, towels, etc. Etc. Were very clean, in the room. And well maintained. The room smelled extremely fresh and clean when we went in as though it had just been freshened up. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting the island. Rooms: The standard rooms at this property are not the largest I've ever seen in a motel. You are not going to find multi-room efficiencies or anything here as far as the standard rooms are concerned. They are a bit on the basic side, and slightly smaller than many modern motels. Motels. The rooms do have all things that you need to be comfortable. A nice size flat screen TV on the wall, dresser, mini fridge and microwave, two very nice. Nice reasonably comfortable bed with clean sheets and pillows, nightstand, a clean if somewhat small bathroom with tub and shower, as well as a nice sink just outside the bathroom. . Safety: This property seems very safe for families. The property is centrally located in the Ocracoke village area. Doors lock securely with a key, and everything seems to be very well maintained. Maintained. You and your family will feel safe at this property. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property to anyone for a nice, quiet family trip. Don't expect some super lively modern hotel vibe here. The nice chairs on the porches outside the rooms. Tell it all. The vibe here is slow and relaxed. Sit back and enjoy the view, or have a stroll around the community. Walkability: This property is conveniently located close to everything in the very small ocracoke village community. You'll honestly likely prefer walking around or possibly renting one of the many golf carts that you see around to get around in a more efficient, quiet, and compact way. This island is set up to be usable with a car, although more convenient on foot or on a bike or golf cart. Relax, slow down and enjoy the community. Noteworthy details: Great little motel at a great price for families."

"Love the convenience of The Anchorage. I come down for work and walking over to Smax after a long day of seeing customers is the perfect treat. We are a family of 6, so if my family wants to come along, we stay at our other favorite place (Blackbeards Lodge) but this is the perfect place for smaller groups. "

"We had a great stay while we were there last week. The view from the balcony is just amazing. It was absolutely gorgeous at night. We did not do the pool. We went to the beach. Everybody was just so nice and friendly the staff the folks in the office. I actually left my curling iron and I called them when I got home and left a message because they were closed, and I sent them an email, they responded to my email and they had my curling iron and they actually mailed it back to me for which I am so grateful. I would absolutely recommend anyone to stay at the Anchorage."

"Fantastic location with a pool at the maina. Great view of Silver Lake. Close to restaurants and the ferry. Central location within easy walking distance of bars and stores. Rooms: King bed. Nearby activities: Swimming pool and bars. Walkability: Close to stres. Food & drinks: Howards Pub and the brewery are a must stop in."

"The hotel is a little dated, but the staff is helpful. It's located in a great place on the island. I've been staying there for years and I'm planning on staying again next year. Rooms: They could really use microwaves in the room."

"Magnificent view, clean and quiet rooms. Good value. Parking was a challenge especially having to compete with the golf cart community that obviously were not guests of the hotel."

"I was slightly worried about this inn because of the reviews, but I'm happy to report we had a wonderful stay. Nothing beats catching the sunrise and set over beautiful Silver Lake. Our room was clean and all of the staff we interacted with were helpful. We enjoyed the pool across the street after a long day on the beach. The inn is also perfectly located central to everything. My biggest complaint are the beds - they need to be replaced because it’s like sleeping on a concrete slab. Thank you for a wonderful stay! We can't wait to come back! Rooms: Clean rooms, very basic, no frills, harbor views in certain rooms, keurig and small refrigerator Nearby activities: Parasailing, boat rentals, charter fishing, shopping, lighthouse, museum, art studio, British cemetery, Springer’s Point Safety: Very, very safe island. The worst thing you have to worry about are drunks and theft, mostly from the tourists. Walkability: If you don't have trouble walking, then you will be able to walk or bike to wherever you need to go. Food & drinks: Smacnally’s is directly across the street, but there are plenty of options within walking distance."
